Character profile: Coy

Name: Coy (commonly known by)

Age: 17

Height: 5'8”

Weight: 211 pounds

Race: Canine Half-man (Coyote)

Hometown: Anthill bay (raised)
Eye Color: Gold

Hair Color: Dark Ginger

Traits: Coyote ears on the top of his head, coyote tail (matches ears and hair), Snaggle-tooth, smoker, has a thigh fetish, goes “Wait... what!?” when surprised.

Occupation: Hero (current), gangster (former), Walton Trading Company employee (former?).

Personality:

Coy grew up in Anthill Bay as an orphan. He was kicked out of the orphanage when he was 14 years old (see the Christmas/New Year's special for more info). Pretty much growing up on the streets (or dirt roads) of Anthill Bay gave him a unique outlook on life. Before being chosen as the Hero, he was mainly cynical due to his own life experiences. Thus also made him even more cynical when he became the Hero.

However, he learned through his journey to hide behind a heroic facade in order to change himself a little.

Only the little things can surprise him, aside from discovering the truth about the world pre-Deity.

He is loyal to his companions as he learned trust is a key factor during his days as a gangster.

However, he mainly plays the “hero card” when it's convenient for him, including using it to go through with things out of his own curiosity.

As he's a coyote, he really doesn't have much in the way of pride (he doesn't even brag). He's more prone to act on rage, like when the Harem King turned him into a woman and when he found out the truth behind the Half-man race.

However, due to his life experiences he is also a bit compassionate towards others in worse situations, like Yuki's as she was summoned from another world and stuck inside the Devil King castle because she was more of a figurehead. He doesn't know how he feels for her as he decided to put romance on the back burner a long time ago until he can find his missing sister and make sure she's all right. He does think that she's cute though.

Attires:

Before becoming the hero, he normally wore a navy blue double-breasted three-piece suit with pinstripes that's been customized due to his tail. He also wore a light blue dress shirt under the vest of the suit with a black neck-tie. He also wore black dress shoes as they too were part of the Walton Trading Company uniform. Under the suit jacket, he had a under-the-shoulder holster for his revolver.

After he became the hero he wore dark gray short-sleeved tunic, dark brown leather boots, tan trousers, long gloves that matched the boots with metal bands hidden under for wrist protection, and a cape of some sort. Not to mention a white cloth headband. Also he had a brown leather gun-belt on his waist and a katana strapped on his back. Even though they cannot be seen due to his gloves, he wears rings on his fingers with different attributes (The Ferry Ring for limited distance travel, one lowers his magic consumption, one that increases his luck, another that increases poison resistance, and one that does parallelization resistance). See chapter 5 for more details.

During his time as a woman, he wore an outfit that Yuki put together while using him (or should I say her?) as a dress-up doll. Coy wore a simple blue Sunday dress that was short-sleeved and ended at the knees. Underneath, Coy wore black lingerie that consisted of a lacy bra, matching panties, a garter-belt, and stockings. For shoes, Coy wore a spare pair of Kimiko's ankle-boots.

Weaponry:

Coy is an expert marksman and gun-slinger. He can even shoot well while fan-firing his revolver. His revolver looks similar to a Colt M1873 (a Peacemaker) despite being chambered in .357 magnum, making it closer to a Ruger Blackhawk. It's even a single-action revolver. Coy's revolver has a nickel finish, making it closer to a chrome-like color. And it's customized with a black carbon fiber handle to prevent the gun from slipping from his hand.

Coy also wields a katana called Shinusame, or Death rain. It's based on a sword from some of my earlier works that was forged from the blade of one of the Grim Reaper's spare scythes (the handle was broken). That sword was called the Sword of Ghouls, but Shinusame is a much better name. As Coy already as the Deity's Blessing, he cannot access the sword's death-based powers. Actually, the powers were sealed by the Pagen Death Goddess who gave him the katana in the first place. The only thing special is that there's no wrapping on the hilt, it shows the tang of the blade like a kitchen knife does. And it has the words 死の雨 (Shi no Ame) inscribed on the lower part of the blade, close to the guard. The translation literally means “Rain of Death”.

The only other weapon Coy keeps on him is a machine gun called a Gusesnberg, which is basically a Tommy Gun. There is nothing special about it, he only uses it when the situation calls for it. He even uses his lightning spell “Fulmine Esplosivo” more than he uses his Gusenberg.

Other notes: I created Coy as antithesis to most male leads in the “Hero vs. Demon lord/Demon king/Devil king” genre. Most of the heroes in the genre either act on their ideals of justice, the potential of fame, to get the girl, to become the new king of the land, or just pure perversion. And that's not including the ones in the Isekai (Another World) genre. Coy is an ex-gangster, but is not doing this out of redemption. He smokes, occasionally drinks, and even uses a gun. Not to mention he has a thigh fetish, which he is open about but doesn't brag about. Heck, he doesn't really brag about anything. Plus he's both cynical and compassionate.

When I decided to make him an animal person, I picked coyote for two reasons. One, everyone seems to pick wolves over any other animal. Despite Holo from Spice and Wolf being the inspiration to making Coy a canine human character, I just think wolves are overrated in that department. The other reason is this dog I used to have named Marcel, he was a mix of Great Pyrenees and Coyote. I originally wanted to even name the male lead Marcel, but I decided against it.
Well... it's been a while since I posted anything on here. So I decided to post a bio for Coy, the male lead in my original web novel "Let's Go Devil King!" for all of you to see. Believe it or not, it's not the full version I have on my PC. I had to remove some content to prevent spoilers.
